388 Post Office branches standing vacant

You gotta love this:

“To secure the Post Office’s future, the focus is on finding practical, long-term solutions that modernise its operations and make it more competitive.”

Moloto said this includes exploring strategic partnerships that bring in financial and operational expertise, and reviewing existing regulations to ensure they support a more innovative and efficient postal service.

Using regulations to make something competitive, that's like fixing a broken car by making it illegal for a car to break down.
It's doesn't get more Commie than this.
F**ing muppets.
So 1994 Post office is the goal here?

Malatsi previously said his department’s budget does not have the resources available to rescue the Post Office and suggested public-private partnerships as the long-term solution to its financial problems.

Ah yes the good old PPP's that the liberation movement always touts. The DA are really learning well

Vacant, whilst still paying rent, or vacant and not paying rent?

There would be lease agreements in place. What do you think?

“Where a branch was previously let, the space will be rented out and occupied by a new tenant,” he said.

Like Solomon or SAPO have any business deciding what the landlord should do with his property. Fecking idiot

Maybe lease agreement is a bit costly in terms of early termination but allows sub-letting ?

Some former manager I spoke to a long while ago reckons it was deliberately driven to the ground to force the government to privatise it. In his opinion, there are politicians waiting on the sidelines to acquire it, or are already in courier industry.

What conspiracy ? Unfortunately, some of them don't get out of bed because of ANC hit squads setup for minority cull.

He's not on Mybb. I was somewhere in the countryside when someone called asked me if I could print and mail something for them. So I had the stuff printed before heading to the post office to fastmail it. At the post office, a lot of things were in boxes so naturally, I asked if they were moving.

We struck up a conversation for a few minutes.

So he told you about a bunch of politicians doing a bunch of shady things with SAPO. Offered zero proof. Now here you are repeating his rubbish. Zero proof. If that isn't a conspiracy theory I don't know what is

@Sideshow Bob Exhibit A of a typical tl/dr/dc posting

Let me assist.

In other words, I clearly indicated I'm sharing an opinion by someone who worked for the PO at the time. Nowhere in that post did I allege there was a confirmed sabotage or added my own opinion about the matter. I thought you're smarter than that.

So you basically shared a conspiracy theory. That's what I thought
