3CX for Small Business

LTE at the office. But obviously 3CX uses whatever the phone's connected to a the time.
Sounds good, maybe I am overthinking as there is no fibre or microwave connection in the area, only LTE/5G but I guess it should be fine, we mostly use deskphones

Any reason you need deskphones?
Mostly we rather have it as most are used to it and if we did the softphone route, we'd have to allow everyone's phones onto the Wi-Fi, this can be an issue and the Voice LTE Kinetix is offering has no Internet breakout

You're using complicated terms I don't understand.

The only thing kinetix provides (in our case) is the 3CX service. We have our own internet at the office, and obviously everyone has own internet on their phones. The "office" phone/extension rings and we pick up wherever we are using our cellphone. No need for another phone on the desk or any other service.

Ah my bad, sounds good though love the flexibility of 3CX, saving a lot of money this route as every other provider wants me to replace my PBX and phones but 3CX still counts my Yealinks as compatible

Any reason to avoid 3CX?
In February 2025, 3CX announced key strategic changes that impact small businesses:
  • End of subsidized 4SC licenses: The cost of 4SC PRO and Enterprise licenses has been increased to reflect actual hosting expenses. Hosted 4SC licenses will be priced comparably to 8SC licenses.
  • Downgrade to 2SC for free users: Legacy 4SC dedicated Free licenses on version 20 will be renewed for 2026 but limited to only 2 simultaneous calls.
  • 4SC licenses via partners only: 4SC licenses are no longer available on the 3CX website and must be purchased through a partner.
  • Migration of free licenses: Existing Free subscriptions issued before 2023 were converted to the 4SC Free tier. However, those on version 18 must have upgraded to version 20 by March 31, 2025, to continue using their Free licens
