What are the options out there and at what price?

I am currently looking at purchasing the Samsung BD-D5500 3D Blu Ray Player. "Sounds Great" has it at R1699, cheaper than Game at R1899.

That's a great buy, but that's excluding the speakers... Right?

Remember you can have Game beat any companies price so you can get it for R1689 at game, LOL if im correct

In that price range the LG BD670 is better. It supports more file formats (some mkv's and wmv's that don't play on the D5500 play on the LG670), has built in wi-fi, has better in-movie zooming, and the LG OSD is great. I was planning on getting the Samsung BD-5500 to match my Samsung TV but the LG was the best buy for the money.

I have the BD670. It is very slow regarding disc loads and premium features are very limited.
The Samsung Apps features are what are attracting me now. If you are after Blu-Ray AND a great streamer in one device, the Sammys have more options over the LG. From the BD5500 up you can use the Plex client which is awesome.

Sorry for the thread resurrection but was curious if you had your setup with plex...?
