Hi All,

I am looking for some free software to mock up a simple 3D drawing, it however needs to be fairly simple to use as i am no maya expert or anything :p

thanks in advance :)

what kind of 3d drawing?

google sketchup is pretty easy to use

blender 3d is extremely powerful, but you will need a textbook or 2 (youtube sintel and big buck bunny for examples of what has been created with it) its well worth the energy spent learning it

here is another link that may help

thanks, i have been playing with google sketch up but it is a but of a pain as it will not let me give accurate measurements, you can draw lines but it is too sensitive and i cannot find how to then modify the measurement with a value.

the drawing is basically a frame work of a stand that one would find at an exhibition.

DesignWorkshop Lite should do it and is not to hard to learn.

When drawing a line, click on the spot where you want to draw, move the line slightly, and you'll see a block in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. Edit the figures there, press Enter and you;ve got your measurement.
