Hi all,
Would really appreciate all the help I can get here.

(I know this is not directly gaming related, but it could do with all the gaming help that still applies, feel free to move the thread mods)

Here is the problem:
We would like to simulate some flight stuff we're working on in 3D.

So the entire software and hardware side is to be defined.

Software wise, we would prefer if there are addons or something for X-plane but other options are welcome.

Hardware wise, the estimate for now is going the nvidia way with the 3D Vision Surround route. For starters we might just do 1 monitor and then move to 3 eventually as necessary. But what would be the estimated computational requirements (what GPUs?) for Full HD 1080p 3D "gaming"/simulation?

The main concern is if there's a possibility of adding to the software. e.g. like an API so that we can implement our own custom flight models.

We decided to go against 3D since it isnt mature enough!

Yeah and its not awesome until it is glasses free!

Well, on the hardware side, TrackIR is essential for flight simulation these days (and any software that supports it really). Obviously if you're only going to be looking at external models then not as important and a mouse would suffice but if you've got internal views on the go then you can't go wrong with it.

Will look into that! It was for my workplace!
