This is just an idea, and I'm pretty sure that there must be something like this out there.
I've worked in 3D max and now I'm learning blender, but modeling in them still doesn't feel like it should.
There must be a program that models in 3D (Using a graphics pen/pad) that gives the feeling that you're sculpting something the same way that you would with a few tools and clay. As it's on a pc, it will offer the awesome precision features that 3D Max and Blender currently offer. (Good luck building a AT-AT walker out of soft clay from a blue print)
There are some pretty awesome videos on YouTube of how fast people can draw with a graphics tablet and photoshop. Why not have the same thing in 3D?
This thought struck me now in bed. I had an awesome image that I'd love to draw, but it was 3D. And I know that there is no way that I can boot up my PC, quickly model it, give it colour and lighting and render it... (even if it's just a rough "sketch") ...and go back to sleep. And scribbling the concept of the image down on a piece of paper so that I can model it tomorrow doesn't really work. I loses it's buzz.
We have the technology... why not the software?
(Perhaps we should suggest this to the Blender team...)
