I'm looking for a 3G signal repeater that I can install to boost 3G singal for cell phones and 3G modems in a small office. We currnetly have a 3G yagi installed and linked to 3G router, but we would rather have the antenna connected a booster so that all devices can benefit.

Does anyone know of any good boosters I can buy and where I can buy them?

Thanks in advance

This has been covered several times on this forum. To the best of my knowledge in South Africa it is illegal to buy a third-party booster for a cellular signal, because not only do you then become an unlicensed broadcaster, but it may interfere with other equipment in your vicinity.

The only way to tackle this is to pester your provider (Vodacom etc.) to say that your signal is too poor. You need to be a fairly good (i.e. lucrative) customer for them to then give you (free) an antenna and booster, but it happens (I have one, which has been a lifesaver because I live in a semi-rural area and use a lot of data).

Yagi antennas are not great for data -- you need a dedicated data antenna, of which Poynting sells several models. You need to orientate it well towards the tower as they don't have a lot of directional tolerance, in my experience.
