Animals cannot speak for themselves, and have never harmed, colonised, discriminated against or hated anyone!

I take my hat off to those who have the stomach to get involved, like Monique and yourself. We need more people in the world like her...

My 2 little dogs and my ancient (19 and a half human years old) cat are like life itself to both my husband and me, I don't know what I would do to someone I caught abusing them in any way. Whatever else, these people cannot be called human...:(:(

We all struggle to come to terms with what some people do to defenceless animals and it is sometimes very difficult to deal with it.

It was actually my fiance, Hayley that got us involved with trying to protect and help these animals as she is a huge softie and prior to getting involved, I too knew about it, but never got actively involved. Now it is a passion and calling that we cannot ignore.

Yes, we do need to get more people involved, but sometimes one does not have to be actively involved to make a difference. It is the small things that count.

I have no regard for people who abuse animals as if they can do what they do to animals, they are just as likely to have as little regard for other forms of life.

It would make your hair stand up on end to see what some animals are put through and we see it daily. I will post a picture of Lucky (the 1 year old that we are adopting), but amazingly enough most animals, with enough love and attention, turn out to be the most amazing pets and companions.

Currently there are a huge amount of animals that are being abandoned and we try and find good, loving homes for them. All they need is a little love and attention. It is not a lot to ask of us, the apparent stronger of the species.

Should you want to be included on the mailing list that we have going to try and find homes for these beautiful creatures, feel free to drop me a PM. All it takes is to forward these mails on to whomever you think may be able to assist or who would be willing to forward them on. Even if one person takes on one of these animals, you will have made a difference.

I think people who can hurt animals like that, are going to a place worse then HELL!!! they deserve everything bad that comes to them. I wish there would be law passed if you caught abusing a animal, what ever you did to that animal the same must be done to you! i know it sounds emoral, but thats just me.....

Lucky i hope he gets well soon and you find a nice home for him!

i love animals to bits.. but can't stand the site of an abused one. It brings me to tears and i'm a hardened guy, can fight and be bleeding from all orifices and not shead a tear but an abused animal.. creates such sadness in me and such rage....

i would rather take the names and residences of the people doing this, and sort them out, after the dogs have been rescued.

i think if i caught the guys doing that too lucky i would go into such rage, nothing would stop me.

Not immoral at all and agree with you wholeheartedly. The sentences for abuse are pathetic to say the least. The cop who set the cat alight will in all probability get off with a fine of R 2000! And lets not go down the road of the lenient sentence that the Husky killer got.

He will be homed by us as we are adopting him.

We work with a number of different NPO's (ARC, PETS, Wetnose Society, Kitten and Puppy Haven, HAWS, WAW, FORA - there are just so many and all of them need our help) All of these are pro-life organizations (i.e. no euthanasia unless necessary - unlike the SPCA).

ARC - Animal Rights Coalition - is the organization that assists all of the other organizations with all forms of assistance. If you are interested in donating, I will provide details for each of these NPO's.

I know how you feel. Unfortunately we were not the ones who found him. It was husband and wife driving through Kayalitsha and there were 3 of them, so very little they could do to sort the culprits out.
