3G Coverage : Cape Town West Coast

I am looking for a new flat on the Cape Town West Coast - Blouberg. Waves edge. Melkboschstrand.
What is it with the poor 3G Coverage out on the West Coast?
What is the best way to test 3G Coverage in a prospective new place of residence?

I am looking at getting an iPhone4S and without 3G Coverage might as well get African Drums....

Is that in Big Bay? That tall block of flats just down the road from you has many antennas so I'm guessing you should be fine there with 3G.
