3G data Usage - How much data do you use?

Hi Guys
I currently have a BB, but am considering getting a new phone. I am however worried that I will end up spending a lot more on data as the BIS service makes a person not worry about usage.

Could you guys please let me know on average how much data you use?

What kind of phone are you looking to get?
 
Not sure yet, I am looking at the HTC Desire Z, Nokia N8 or something else...

Depends on your usage but safe to get between 75Mb to about 350mb data bundle work on a sliding scale if your phone is your only access to the net then 350 if u will be checking mails and f Facebook quite a bit and some whatsapping then maybe 100 -150, and if doing that not too often then 75 MB
of course if taking that phone on contract I notice they offer a data bundle nowadays

Thanx for your input...yes I would just like to check mail, use whatsapp and browse the web every so often.
I use it while on the road mostly, i download mail and do harder browsing on a pc...
 
Just to say my two words about the nokia option, nokias don't compress webpages at all. So if you do browse pc sites allot you can easily look at 1mb+ PER page.

Mosr smart phone browsers dont compress web pages, unless the site has a mobile version then its less bandwith heavy ( eg mybb, facebook, google ) Get opera mini if u want, compressed browsing
 
I use opera mobile with turbo enabled. It uses a lot less to surf.

I use 400-500Mb of 3G on my Galaxy S. Maybe another 500Mb over Wifi

Thanx for your input. It is quite hard to judge how much I will use.
Wish there was a proper BB app to measure my usage.then again my device is not 3G enabled so I guess I will use more on 3G

It all depends on what intend on using it for. I use mine heavily, always on sync as well. I am on a RBM contract with 500mb though so I make full use of it. You can get away with much less (+-150mb) but in that case you'll be using the phone not to its full extend.
 
I have a HTC sensation and use about 200mb a month. I buy prepaid bundles as needed. My sync is always on but i must mention that i have wifi at home. So only use 3g at work, between 6am and 4pm. Mostly just emails, whatsapp, some browsing and now and then dl a few apps or update. Just one thing about android phones: without a reasonable data plan u cant use the phone to its full potential.
