Pretty much everywere...
I'm using my uncles 3G USB modem, its got 500mb cap but it seems to not even last that long, and the Megabytes even go while i am idling it...

I have only been saving some web pages, I'm doing research, and 106mb is already gone, and its only been used for the first time this month...

any help on this?

Thank you
:)

500MB is very little, get a bigger cap.

Turn pictures off in the browser. Adobe flash doesn't help much either, block it.

Buy a simcard and use prepaid next time. Sounds like he's paying off the 3G modem on a contract which you don't need at all if you have a decent cellphone.

did you check your usage or just the incoming bandwidth amount on the windows connect thing in the bottom corner next to the time?

Check usage on the vodacom lite usage monitor, this will be more accurate, as the vodacom uses its own data to keep connected, not your downloading BW data.

Hmmmm... nice to see a normal thread by you for once! That said... If you are using the software provided by MTN, it can also use up bandwidth for no apparent reason. 500meg is bugger all but I do recall problems my sister had with her MTN jobby. All she did was buy a prepaid sim with Vodacom and now her airtime lasts a bit longer.
