3G in your area?

I would just like to know how you can find out when 3g is coming to your area? Also is it necessary to upgrade to the USIM to fully utilise the 3g network? And one last thing how much does a Usim cost…

Not sure about the first question but you do not need a USIM to use 3G, the USIM provides the following:

- 3G Roaming (only useful outside of SA)
- 128k storage (250 contacts)
- Authentication features which allow access to extra services like online banking

I'm on contract and bought my USIM for R136.80
