3g, it keeps on disconnecting itself virtually from my system?

Well, I have changed it in device manager "Universal Serial Bus controllers" then "USB Root Hub properties" and then "Power Management" and then "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." it have been unticked, it give the same result.

test the modem on another machine, if the same thing happens it's the modem, if it doesn't then well go back to the drawing board on the server...

I'm on MTN and I have exactly the same problem as D-boy when connecting 3G (and edge for that matter).

I connect with good signal all then after some random time the connection stops responding. Then after disconnecting I can't connect again 'cause the modem is still in use. I then have to reset my phone before it works again.

yip, that's the exact same error I get!!!, I'm glad to hear that's its not me only

EDIT: You see the thing is, I have to unplug the 3G modem and then plug it back, that's also like a reset basically

can you set your modem on edge/gprs? (if vodacom has edge coverage - unlikely). My connection seems more stable when I connect using edge.

I also can't connect to my email on university serve when on 3G. When edge it's fine. Every now and then 3G actually works. It connects fine to Yahoo! POP3 though when 3G
Weird!
