Hi all

I was wondering how I go about setting my iphone up for 3g or Edge so that I can check my email etc when I'm away from my wireless home connection.

Can I do that, as I seem to remember someone saying Virgin doesn't even have 3g.

No, Virgin doesn't have 3G but it does have EDGE. All you do is set the access point as
Code:
vdata
and check the IPs are zeroed, played with an iPhone a month ago and took a few seconds to guess where it was.

or you can just go to the virgin menu (automatically on your phone once you insert a virgin sim) and select send setting ...then you just follow the prompts and you done !

I don't like the speed of GPRS. I would rather port to Vodacom or MTN...for the benefit of 3G

true...but i use it for browsing and occasionaly for small downloads 5mb or less and it seems ok for me. plus it's cheaper per meg than the other service providers .
