Why didnt Sentech decide to go with this Technology instead ProAsm? Seems like a huge problem for 3G
 
i dont think they said they were using 3g, jus mentioned it, they might be using it, or they might not.... until they release, I have no idea :)
 
Errr....I dont know which areas they cover. I'm not mr know-it-all.
I just happen to know they are using 3G technology.
 
Sentech has been planning this for a long time maybe at the time they started implimenting this wasn't availible they have all the equipment already so it would be a waist to just convert but maybe with new cells they can encorperate it since it uses the same 802.11b system :) Dunno but this could be the case :)
 
So, fascinatingly enough, the technology is based on UMTS/3G.

What happens when the Govt. wants to auction this part of the spectrum for voice (Sentech can't carry voice)? Will this change the cost structure?

Nonetheless, I'm really looking forward to the spin-off benefits that this can bring to users....remote data collection etc.
