Apparently Motorola will not be releasing this 3g PDA locally, either.

Something to do with network certification (service provider) or insufficient volumes (manufacturer). See 'MTN handsets' thread.

When will we get the good stuff?

The 3G PDA 'Universal', a '3G i-mate' from HTC, will be available later this year. This is a Windows CE device with a clam-shell swivel screen and a full qwerty keyboard.

It will be launched as the Vodafone VDA-IV.

I've got my order in.

This sounds too good to be true. But if it does happen, I will definitely switch service providers to Vodacom, if MTN can't match this.

Now I also understand why Vodacom are market leaders.
