Hi There, My Father-in Law got the 3G card in Jan 05 and has lataely complained of very slow speeds.
Initially when I setup the card for him, i tested the speeds and it was very much satisfactory, streaming video etc etc no problemo.
Lately i found that the connection is seriously becoming dogslow.
When you try accessing websites in general it takes ages for any page to load, and sometimes it just stalls i.o.w nothing happens (the status bar in the browser doesnt move at all)
Last night tried to download a 2.4mb file and it was transferring at 752 bytes/s, thats nor even 1kb/s!
Its like there is no response when you try to access a website, and when you do get a response is really really slow.
Our coverage is supposed to very good according to the 3G coverage map
I'm in Highveld Centurion,Pretoria
I've read a couple of threads mentioning an external antenna, is this maybe the problem? Where can i get hold of one ?
You guys have probably had this question a lot , but can anybody help me, please, since my father-in-law is currently convinced his old dail-up connection is faster.
any help is greatly appreciated
