3G reception on a nokia N70

Hi all, my mom has a Nokia N70. I must help her set up her laptop for browsing, emails, and if possible, skype. But I'm not sure if she has 3G reception where she stay, in Polokwane.

On the N70, does it always show 3G, or just when in reception area? And if there isn't 3G, will it show "G" or "E", or whatever? Thanks

It will show the reception you have in that area not what the phone is capable of. Sometimes it will show G ie. GPRS when when 3G is down. As for Skype. Works well with 3G and breaks up with Edge. That is why I prefer Google Talk. Has less latency and uses at least 30% less MB.
