3G tower upgrade timetable

Hi there...

I've just gotten myself a Samsung Z500 3G phone, and moved into a new home. I've been connecting to the net via the 3G on the phone, but the signal where I'm staying now is very weak, and sometimes just goes away. Checking on the Vodacom coverage map, I see that I am in a spot that claims to have no coverage. Coverage from one tower ends about 200m up the street in one direction, and resumes 200m down the street from another tower in the other direction.

What I'd like to know is if there is any way I can find out if and when towers in my area will be upgraded in such a way that my 3G experience will improve?

You should call the Data Helpdesk on 155 from your cellphone, and let them know - perhaps you can also enquire if your area is in the Phase 2 rollout of their 3G infrastructure too, and if not, maybe by "complaining" it will improve your chances of getting 3G coverage sooner, rather than later?

Man o man, I'm in the exact same boat, just moved houses, I had GREAT 3G connectivity, now I've moved to Ashley in Pinetown and I've got 100m coverage in each direction from my house, a nice fat no-coverage circle. What a waste of a contract just because I moved!
