3g + Vpn

Ok, stoopid question - I connect my 3G, but then i want to connect to my work VPN, but when i click on my network icon, which is disconnected, and go to VPN connection my work VPN is greyed out and I can not connect.

Connect wired to the internet it works 100%.

How do I connect to my VPN through my 3G.

Ubuntu 8.04

Ok looks like there is no solution for this at the mo. Any developers out there wanna solve this problem?
