Hi

I was mugged yesterday and got my phone stolen so now i am looking at a Motorola Moto G (without LTE) and a Motorola Moto E (with LTE). The Motorola Moto E is better in specs, a part from the LTE. I am a big online gamer, was wondering if going for LTE enabled phone is worth the spec loss. Will 4G improve my ping when compared to 3G or will only the download speed change? LoL/Dota2/Advanced warfare

Thanks

LTE does have much lower ping then 3g but like dj_jyno said first find out if you have signal

Pings on LTE are vastly superior to 3G. No 200-1000ms pings or worse. Average is around 30-40ms but 20ms is not unheard of.

Last I checked Telkom LTE was the best option for gaming.

See topic Is MTN LTE blocking ports?

Okay so I am pretty picky with my phones, I don't like it feeling hollow or like a toy. The 2nd gen moto E, has impressed the crap out of me. Feels freaking awesome and I love the design, sometimes I look at it and say wow this phone was worth every rand. I have never got lag on it, I had the whole phone setup in an hour. The only average thing is the camera which is still good tho, just not on par with competition. But I feel it's the best LTE enabled phone under R2.5k. Speaker is awesome, latest android is awesome, screen is awesome, games on it is awesome, camera average. Haven't been dissapointed in any way:) except for the fact that it won't get LTE on 8ta but will on every other carrier, cause Telkom uses 2300 band and this phone doesn't support it. And I assume you are buying your phone through orange, they get a lot of bad reviews on this forum, but it's because the people whos process goes perfectly don't speak up. Mine went perfectly, 8 days and the phone was there for collection, and there were 9 other guys there who's processes Aldo went perfectly. Go for it bro! (Sorry, my grammer is horrid after a grave yard shift)

Fantastic news my order has just been placed... I can't wait.
Another question is did you get some type of case/shell? If so what did you get and from where.
My current phone (htc) was dropped and the screen cracked and I believe a case would have saved it, I do not want to make this mistake again.

Awesome!:) Good luck with the wait. I didn't get one with the phone, but i have ordered the "Motorola Grip Shell for Motorola Moto E (2nd Gen)". Saw a review on the cover and they said it felt good and didn't add too much size to the phone. Here is a review of the same type of material except for the moto g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_K-O5YSdGMU
