I want to use my Jasjar as a modem with my Notebook but can't get it right.

What is the settings for the Notebook if I want to dial to the internet with a cellphone as a modem? I know there was specific numbers and stuff.

Sorry I have to bother with this, but can you perhaps tell me if the Vaaldam area (Deneyesville) would get EDGE coverage in this year. I won`t even ask for 3G coverage cause I know the answer. Please reply as I have asked this many times but still people vee hulle self net daaraan af.

If you need to search at street level for MTN 3G/EDGE coverage go to: http://www.mtn.co.za/default.aspx?pid=11789 and click on the street map.
The map is now out of date but I assume it will be updated some time given the rapidly expanding 3G/EDGE coverage.

You could also drive around the hood with your phone out the window looking for the Y'ello Broadband message on your screen....

I am 2 Kms away from the Erand 3g tower. The map seems to think that the entire area around my house has 3g coverage, but I have persistently bad signal and frequent disconnects. I even had a dude at my house to do tests, and I was informed that some setting is too low on the Erand tower, but there is nobody at good ol' MTN that can adjust it. The next tower is frikken miles away.

If only they could fix the tower or the map.

As lame as Vodacom's pricing and lack of data bundles are, MTN stull sucks more ass.

I'm not in any way an official representitive of MTN in this forum, I am however in a good position to help out with some of the questions raised here. If a customer were to come into one of our branches I would provide the same information, so I see no difference between a customer in store and a person on this site.

There are 11 sites to be 3G enabled in Paarl/Stelies you are prioity 5 out of 14in the WCape area, so should be up and running in a few months.
