R230 for 3GB, that's like data prices circa 10yrs ago, I thought prepaid data prices had come down after the networks were forced to drop data prices?

It is actually more if you buy directly from VC. R229 for same thing through Nedbank (and probably all the other channels)

For MTN go buy a SIM card for R5 or R10. Register it on Afrihost and get 1Gb valid for 60 days immediately, transferable to any other MTN sim. And, I think, without putting any money on the SIM, you get 3 months of free 1Gb's. I use the SIM in my gate motor to get a free 1Gb every month and all I do is buy a R5 sms package every few months.
