3rd degree: The Malema interview

i heard she flirted with him a bit, and that the whole interview was very unprofessional. i'll watch it now and become opinionated ;)

EDIT: 163 megabytes!?!? it's okay, i don't care THAT much :)

That so-called interview was a joke. Both the "journalist" and the guest "politician" are the worst examples of their respective trades this country has ever had to bear.

Was just about to say . Patta is too journalism what Malema is too politics

That Patta biatch is so frikken bias,it showed with that "Thabo genocide joke" last week. After i saw that, i fully understand why sabc won't broadcast it.

Can't see what value she add to the wrestling channel.

Very mature, as always JustAsk. Of course at least "the wrestling channel", as you call it, isn't costing the tax payer billions.

Deborah Patta made a complete tool of herself. She had an oppotunity to to ask some important questions but decided to go for gutter journalism. She asked him questions like how he got so fat and other retarded questions. She actually came off worse than JM.

I also watched it. The impression I got from Patta was that she was kinda helpless in the face of such overwhelming ignorance. It’s like if your 7 year-old asks you “Dad, how do radios work?” You want to be truthful. Should you start with signal propagation? Basic electronics? The politics surrounding licensing etc? It’s that kind of helpless I ascribed to Patta.

True, her questions were immature and she came across sarcastic. She tried to feed him but he didn't take the bait.

i agree with what people have said here. the 2 were like peas in a pod, feeding off each other's stupidity and ignorance. i didn't know who to side with.

however, where things took an ugly turn was on channel 403 (E-News) afterwards. specifically when malema was talking about zimbabwe & robert mugabe (i'm paraphrasing here, but he said something along the lines of "we will always support our comrade robert mugabe, he did the right thing in zimbabwe but the way in which he did it was wrong.") Then he went of starting to talk about land redistribution, and it sounded very scary. he claimed people would fight for the land if they dont get it.

it was at this point i looked at my british passport, and my wife's italian passport, and felt some relief.

A few of Malema's quotes (from facebook):

"You are not qualified to talk about culture"
"in fact you are uncultured you should be fined a cow"
"If you think you are demoralising me by talking about my matric results.........shem"
"I prepare for every speech, I even write Hellen Zille is a fake"
"Tokyo is rich but he's not a capitalist , in fact Tokyo is owing Nedbank"
"Now you are being petty I'm not rich, you want to define richness by materialism"

and the best one:

"Every Monday meeting the elders in the ANC yell at me, then I go back... and repeat the same thing. I'm not president of those old people I'm President of the Youth"

:D

Ya, exactly. What I got from it was that, unlike Mugarbage and co., this bunch would squeeze whitey for all he is worth before simply taking the land by means of introducing laws and all the other horse**** he went on about. We must transfer our skills (and "mahnie") before we go!

23:32 -- "Here, where we are sitting, we are hosting beauty queens of the world. In this hotel today, they are here preparing for Miss World. None of them has been a victim of criminal activities. None of them was harassed, and if we're to talk extreme, none of them was not even raped by the people of South Africa."

I think that is the best quote. Ever.

I seem to be in the minority here though, I actually liked watching that interview. It wasn't the best interview I've ever seen, but it wasn't tragic. I don't believe Malema is stupid, but I do believe he is very ignorant of reality.

He could probably even be a really nice person, but he just seems so... confused. Like a child who heard stories of a great war he believes in, but missed his chance to fight in it.

Agree... you can see he enjoy all the attention (like a child - Does not care if the attention is positive or negative as long as he gets attention)

i also don't believe Malema is a bad person. i saw an interview with him one morning and you can just see how he speaks and acts that he doesn't mean harm to people. there is a difference between cultures and struggles, most people think black people would be happy speaking any african language and that they could go anywhere, and it's not like that for them.

maybe malema thinks white people are the biggest problem to south africa today, i mean most people here think it's the ANC and that they're all on some big conspiracy to eradicate white people, but then they laugh at Malema. one side is accusing BEE of taking over and another is claiming that there are still not enough black people in management positions.

all in all i just don't think he is a bad person, he just has a warped view of reality, but then most people here do too anyway, everyone see's some problem with the world and some huge conspriacy. if you make him out to look like an idiot and it turns out that he isn't, you lose credibility, so all you can do is be honest then nobody can hold you to it.
