I am in the market for 4 smart tv's for 4 appartments.
For Netlix, Amazon Prime , youtube and whatever more they can display..

I am planning to get 4 openview decoders and connect these to one dish with a quad lnb.

Budget is R16000
All of them 40 inch would be nice but two 40 inch and two 32 inch is ok
I really would like dedicated Netlix, Prime and Youtube buttons on the remotes but the main thing is that they have to be easy to use for guests..

I could also go for Xiaomi Mi Box S , I have 4 non smart tv's..... I found the Mi Box S for R1149 @ Dionwired , is that the best price ?

Samsung and LG tv's would be nice but Hisense or another brand is also ok as long as the the smart works smoothly over wifi

Firstly finding a local TV with all those dedicated buttons might be difficult. YouTube and Netflix will be nice and easy but still haven't seen any big players have both other than Hisense.

Honestly I'd look at the MiBox route and keep the TVs prices down, the "smart" functionality isnt always the best experience unless your going for the range topping TVs even then a dedicated unit still out performs them.

You might also get away with some cheaper smart remotes that can then control both the MiBox and the TV unit itself reducing effort from your apartment visitors specially if they are less technical inclined.

Having the MiBox hooked up to internet will also give your guests the freedom of choice and a nice experience and may also at one point allow you to load up Disney+ and other services when we finally get them locally with dedicated apps rather than waiting for the TV to support it.

Regarding what TV model and brand I can't assist just giving you my thoughts on what you can use tech wise :)

I would also go for seretate tv and box. You are likely to get the tv cheaper than without the "smart" part including the cost of a box. last thing you want is someone fiddling with the tv and getting it stuck in a bootloop or installing who knows what onto the tv (do smart tv's have controls on what is installed?).

Thanks, probably the smart thing to do, going for a separate box..
Only thing is that having 3 remotes(tv,openview and box) is not not so nice...
Next thing is deciding which one, Xiaomi Mibox s or Telkom LIT
Any thoughts??
