4 graphs which show how Eskom has fallen apart

Just a pity that two of your graphs do not start at the origin.
 
What do the municipalities provide us with the margin they make on the electricity sales.
Surely this should rather go back to Escom for infrastructure builds.
If i read the graph right then a unit being 1kwh costs about 60c .
What does the municipality do with the 50c / kwh profit they make.
They don't have the same costs as Escom
 
R50 Million for Exec bonuses? They should be firing those idiots and hiring some competent people.

yeah, Its very misleading to everyone not reading the figures. Which is the point of having a graph.
Its bad enough that its not growing, no need to exaggerate.

Graphs and trends are only relevant in a western paradigm, Africa rewards incompetence.

This probably goes into RDP housing, buying of land for housing, "job creation" and other overheads that a more-and-more socialist system requires. Paying suppliers more for their BEE credentials also doesn't help.

To think that during peak times I am charged R3+ per kwh.
 
Don't need graphs to know what comes via logical deduction

They have to maintain the local supply grid, all the substations and switchgear and so forth. The cost is almost definitely too high though, and is used to supplement other departments in the municipality. Sadly, in some cases these are the KFC department and the FANCY CAR department.

It would be misleading if there were no numbers on the graph. Having those graphs start at zero they would almost look like flat lines, which do not tell the story. The peak demand graph only has a drop of about 2000 MW, on a scale of 40000 that wouldn't really show. But that is a third of Medupi's power, which has more meaning.

And the reason they want such massive increases...

They want you to use less but pay more. In which farking dimension does that ever work? If you want to increase revenue, you need to increase output. Simple as that. Giving less and expecting the same is insane, giving less and expecting more is just farking retarded.

Even worse is what it says about the state of our economy. Demand should be increasing every year.
 
How's about this for zero-origin graphs...

Still though - we're talking about 1.4% annual declines... which in economic terms would be considered a very harsh RECESSION.

Maybe that's the terminology we should be using? Power-recession...
