Hi there

I'm working in South Africa for three months. I bought a 4G wireless modem router from Incredible Collections and a SIM card from Vodacom. The SIM card is pre-paid, given I'll only be here for three months.

I loaded it up with 20GB data but the problem is the signal on the modem only is 3G. This happens no matter where I take it, although the majority of my work is done from Sandton City.

The SIM is 64K, should I swap for a 128K? Or could there be another reason why it's capped at 3G?

Go to a Vodacom store in Sandton City and just ask them to check for you if the sim card was provisioned for LTE/4G. This should be free of charge but they still have to activate it on your simcard.

Quickest would be to just call 082111 or 082155. They can provision the prepaid card for LTE. The shops cant provision LTE on prepaid number.
