4G Launch Prices In UK

£56,00 for 8gigs, unlimited calls and SMSes... That's around R780,00... Kinda puts the R800,00 I pay for a Talk 500 package which gives me 500 minutes, 100 SMSes and 500megs of data into perspective. :(

Prices are actually expensive compared to 3G prices, and have been criticised quite universally here. People are starting to say EE stands for "Extremely Expensive".

T-Mobile (which is one of the networks merged into EE) offered unlimited browsing, 3UK offers unlimited data (with users regularly going up to 70-80GB without any problem). 3G unlimited plans can be had sim only for £15 or with handset for around £30.
Ironically T-Mobile have upgraded their 3G infrastructure as part of the EE expansion, so around 20Mbps on 3G is now possible, same with 3UK.

The common belief is the lack of competition has meant these are a lot more expensive for the data allowance than they should be.

I don't think we will see a huge demand for 4G LTE in the UK until next year when there is a bit more competition in the market.
