4K streaming not an immediate priority for DStv Stream and Showmax

Its generally fine for normal programmes being aired... but sweet lord, when its live sports events, the streams just blur, buffer and get nasty...
 
They can't even keep a stable stream at 1080p. How are they even going to manage 4k. They should come out and just say that their plan for streaming was rubbish, they didn't invest enough in it, they thought that their sports packages will carry them so the premium subs would be enough. Can't wait for the day when the EPL starts selling direct to the customer like F1TV.
 
Everyone's got it wrong... it's because MC doesn't want to pay the MNOs to provide an OTT service on their networks.

I noticed the 4k option too. But nothing is 4k. Nothing. Not even slightly.
