Hi

I just asked telkom to move my line to 10mb, but they say i cant get 10mb yet at my exchange...but they did move it to wi-max thing.

My router show this now: http://i.imgur.com/cE3oU.jpg (used to show max attainable speed 11000)

So would i be able to get 10mb or they talking truth i cant get yet?

Thx
Flame

They've upgraded me to 6mbps somehow, but it looks like I am still on g.dmt... not on ADSL2+.

I tried switching over, but it didn't work.

Looks like you are connected to a MSAN. What reason did they give for not being able to move you to 10Mbps?

dunno, they said im on "wi-max", and they say the exchange cant do 10mb yet. thats the guy who work in exchange who said that, must i call telkom and apply over 10mb maby? or whats my best move?

http://www.telkom.co.za/checkadsl/ says max at my exchange can do max 4mb ...:( ... suggestions i must do?

so, must i call telkom on 10210 or 10219 or what?

You can definitely get 10mb with those stats and ADSL2+... phone them and keep trying until you get the right guy.

MickeyD, how do you know he is on an MSAN? Attainable rate is independent of exchange, right?

Call 10210 and select the ADSL technical support option.Ask them to upgrade your line to 10MB.The fact that your line is set to ADSL2+ mode suggests your exchange should support >4MB

thx. will call them tomorrow :) ill keep u posted.

You're probably connect to a IMAX, not Wi-Max, exchange, it's possible that they only support 6Mbps on it and not 10Mbps

well they said its the newest tech , im 2 blocks (400m) from exchange. so i called my friend at telkom today and he says their is no 10mb link yet. their stil busy....ffs...they said this 3 months ago already :(
