Ive just upgraded from the MWEB 1MB to 4MB. On the 1MB I use to download at around 100kbps. I was expecting around 400kbps on the 4MB line but im getting a maximum of 250kbps. Is this the correct download rate or should I query it?

What speed is your life syncing at?

On a stable 4Mb line you should be getting over 400kbps at least, but check you line sync speed first to see what that is

Morning ihsaan

I would like to look into this from our side. Please can you PM me the MWEB email address or username in order for me to check and provide you with more information.

My speedtests normally indicate 3.4Mbps.

I tend to download at 412 - 425kB/s.

It's 4Mb and 1Mb, not 4MB (32Mb). b is for bits, B is for Bytes. 1 Byte = 8 bits.

This is exactly the reason why I left.
I was on 1 Mbit Premium, then 2 Mbit and all was well then when I went to 4 Mbit the wheels fell off.
MwebGuy tried to help, the support guys and finally the obnoxious call center told me it was my fault and I need a new modem blah blah blah, and that was the final straw.
Changed ISP's and now if it drops below 400 KB/sec I feel disappointed :)

I'm with Telkom ISP on a 4Mb line and I also get max 230KB/s on downloads. Router stats below...any suggestions?

Actually first, just do a traceroute to 8.8.8.8 and paste it, to eliminate exchange issues
