I had a lot of issues with the availability of my line during the last month. The issue was fixed, but from Wednesday last week, the speeds dropped significantly. According to the Telkom technician, it is due to fact that the ADSL infrastructure in Centurion is overloaded and his suggestion is that I should drop my line speed.

Has anyone else in the Centurion area experienced similar issues?

I have heard that Telkom are busy upgrading the ADSL infrastructure in some areas due to the impact of the 10Mb lines which created high latencies. It is however the first I heard of overloading at the exchange on 4Mb lines.

I've had this line with the ADSL connection for years and this is the first instance where I have experienced these issues.

My 4Mb line is rock solid. I'm on Lyttelton exchange, which is not 10Mb capable atm.

I'm on a 658 line. This is probably just another bad excuse for a technician not to do their job.

Just the typical excellent Telkom service!

I don't know exactly where the exchanges are, but it should be determined by your area and telephone number.

I am on the Pierre van Ryneveld exchange and it is overloaded as we have our own topic under adsl discussions. Mine isn't really that bad, but when I get the dip in speed, it is usually when I play online games.

im close to centurion mall by ther mcdonalds

Telkom, Telkom, wherefore art thoust neweth generationeth networketh?
