Hi guys.

I have got 1024kb Telkom ADSL line, that is now a 4mb due to the trial, just wanted to find out if any of you know when the trial is over and if we will be keeping out 4mb lines or we would have to pay for upgrade to the 4mb. i have heard many reports that telkom will be updating out lines to 4mb for free, or at the same price we are paying for 1024kb. not sure if it is true.
Any help would be gratefull.

As of 1 April when Neotel launches residential products, Telkom is going to upgrade all ADSL connections to 4mb lines. Then they are going to cut all their prices in half.



Then on the next day everyone will notice is was Telkom's idea of a sick joke. Ok well sorry I don't have any info on that :(

I don't want my 512kb con upgraded to 1mb. I want more GB for less and lower international ping.
 
well.. what ever but are they keeping the 4mb connection or now..
Proof, no speculations please!
 
I hope it is as they say it is. I am calling the orders department tomorrow to verify....They are closed now
 
wait.. :eek: u saying everyone getting upgraded? what about rental cost?

That is what I thought.

Regroup tomorrow i reckon when we have some more confirmation. He was certain though, the guy i spoke to. Cos the trial was successful, they were going to implement it for good.
 
well for 1MB people i can understand but 384 and 512 connections. Are there cows flying outside? Anyone see it?

Hehe, yeah...Well he was more vague about that, he reckoned in the next few months or so. But the 1mbit-4mbit he was sure about.

Does this mean (there is a chance) that in the next few months or so my 384k line will be upgraded to 1mbit (or maybe 4mbit), without any additional costs to me:confused:
 
I have not heard a positive on that rumor. [384/512 auto-upgrade]

So i called there today and the lady i spoke to this time said she had not heard anything about when the 4mbit trial is sposed to end...

The 384/512 thing is unconfirmed, but the guy i spoke to yesterday was adamant, after consulting with his supervisor that all 1meg lines will be automatically upgraded to 4 meg.
