4Mb Uncapped, Unshaped ADSL

There are several, someone started a thread a day or 2 ago asking the same thing. Check Hellkom, there are a number of solutions you can look at.

Vodacom Business 4Mb uncapped is shaped.

Openweb gave us one to test and it was a total failure. Skype struggled, Steam wouldn't connect or update - and that's just two off the top of my head. Hats off to them. They tried really hard to get the solution to work. If Vodacom had come to the party, we'd have sold that solution on to the client in question.

Gary, last year we looked at giving MTN Business something like R6k a month for their 4Mb offering, but the feedback from others that had the product wasn't great.

Ooops, that's weird. Skype should work even if it is shaped.

Skype doesn't want to play nicely if you disable "supernode" - which we do by default. Bandwidth is too expensive to allow skype to use it to make other people's calls on our computers.

The other big problem was Google that failed. It would take up to 20 minutes for MS Outlook to download a 2.4Mb email from Google Mail over Vodacom.

vodacom takes all the ports that has high voltage and shape it the other ports that does almost no traffic does not get shaped...

That's really of no interest to me.

I'm in the market for uncapped, unshaped.

Just because there's really no traffic on some obscure port, doesn't mean that it's not being used. Maybe I want to connect 20 IP cameras to port 8888...
