Hi guys

How is it that virtually everyone I've spoken to and virtually everyone on here has their line upgraded the same day, if not instantly, yet I've been waiting 4 business days now? When I placed the order telephonically, I was told that my area has 4mb and that she will put the order through immediately.

Since then, I've made multiple calls to Telkom and they keep telling me the same two things... "a technician has not been assigned" and "these things take time".

So I'm wondering is there something that the technician has to do here at the exchange? I live in a small town, does that have anything to do with it? Just need to get my facts straight before I kick up a moerse fuss with them!

Thanks

Count yourself lucky. I moved into a new apartment recently in Houghton/Parktown Johannesburg and ordered a new line at the beginning of October. Still nothing. I phoned yesterday and they said that my service delivery will take place in April 2009????????????

Now thats styling lol. Best part is Neotel dont cover my area and Iburst is useless. I guess Internetlesness applies to me right...

Oh ja, and usually they say that any service delivery should take between 14 and 21 working days so I guess you should give them a chance.

Reset Router?

Not sure if this is the case as I have not had the liberty of upgrading to a 4Mb line yet, as I was hoping Telkom would have done so automatically by now seeing that by now a 4Mb line should be entry level, but should you not reset your Router to reload the new Up and Down Speeds on the WAN.

Well I called them twice since i posted and they give the same response. I give up. The reason I needed 4mb has come and gone. I'll just let them do their thing and hope its done by April 2009. Damn, RandomGRK :(
