Hey all,

I live in pretoria, on a plot out on kameeldrift, and sometimes I only get like 30kbs of dl speed ?

This is on all four our pc's!

Help please!

Some times its fine others not!

more info please?

what are you downloading?
how are you downloading?
when are you downloading?
what account do you have?
when did this start happening?
have you tested it with another account?
are you on a shaped account?

lol - yip you would need all this info.

if your 4 pcs... using 30Kbps each = 120Kbps = 1.2 Mbps = normal for daytime + sucky ISP.

So many reasons why this could be happening. As Dude guy said, we would need some more info.

Perhaps your router is at fault(try restart) or your line might have a small fault or you might be a bit far from the exchange...

+1. OP's post is pretty useless as is. First of all, what ADSL connection? 4Mbps? What ISP? What type of account with that ISP? We need to know what he's using to download, where he's downloading from (what protocol?). Are those 5 PC's connected WIRELESSLY to the router? What router is it? What are the ADSL modem's sync statistics?
This is all required information if you want any useful feedback.

And just to clear things up, a small b means bits, a capital B means bytes, so when you say the dl speed is 30kb/s, it means that you'll be downloading @ roughly 4KB/s. Which is totally ridiculous for a 4mb being shared by 4 PC's.

The ideal would be that every PC gets 1mb/s allocated, allowing each PC to download at roughly 120KB/s.
