Was running at 3200/512kbps, been like this for 2 months. Thanks Telkom even with the 4 visits to your office and over 20 calls to your useless centre.

Anyways, whats the problem so I can tell those useless bastards what's wrong so they can at least attempt at doing something

See now, im all for violence in these situations. Because you cant reason with something that doesnt have any to start with. <only jokes>

Ask for a pro rata refund... since you are paying for "at least" 1mbit speeds and are only syncing at 768kbps. Watch them sort the problem out very quickly then.

First try another ISP, so when telkom tries to throw the ball in your court the whole time you can say otherwise.

Already tried, their excuse was them showing me on their site a:
Min of 640kbps and Max of 4096kbps

Rather ping your ADSL gateway. It will look like a 41.177.0.1 IP Address. Ping that and you should have a good indication.

Do the following..

'Acquire' by your own inititive a program called VisualRoute, 2008 I believe to be the latest.

Enter in any internet ip or websites, a few times and a few different ones. Look carefully and you will find your second hop should be your ADSL gateway. Your first should be your LAN router.

SAOL.com customers will find now that they their ISP is up to sh.t again. They have their links in a knot with Cybersmart and its just looks like a mess.

Click on the image to view it better. My ping from the infomation to my gateway would average about 52ms. One must read these type of infomation very carefully though. Some gateways will have peering links before your second hop. Nonetheless as you can see im on SAOL.com and it first goes through the cybersmart-upload gateway.
