Finally got my 4Mbps line installed. After several Telkom consultants telling me my area doesn't support it, I persisted, and with some help, only 24 hours after ordering my line is active!

It does feel great to finally have true broadband.

Nice,

Give it 2 weeks and you will think 4meg is slow! i need more speed ASAP ,

How much does it cost these days, including line rental, etc.

I have 33GB a month which is enough for me. And if I do use it up I always have the freedom to buy some more :P

@xrapidx - Line rental and everything comes to about R550 (Telkom, maybe a fraction more). Then purchase whatever data you want and need from your ISP.

congrats!
took me 17 days to get my 4mb upgrade!

actually, day 1 to 16, talked to unhelpful telkom agents,

but on day 17, talked to a nice lady( who knew her stuff )... she sorted me out in less than 2 hours and i was up and running!

I've had 4Meg for about a month now and I have experienced the greatness. I'm also on Telkom Do3 and can't afford anything more than that. However, I tend to go over the local bandwidth I get every month and then I end up paying more than I can afford. Now I'm looking for a little something.
Has anyone used this: http://www.webafrica.co.za/adsl/is_local/ or is there anyone with thoughts on WA's bw? I read a lot of news, btw.

EDIT: I also have a gig from Afrihost for int. And I'm looking at that 30GB from WA.

definately worth it...

i'm averaging 320 Kb/s on my torrents!

33Kb/s speeds are just a very distant memory now....goodbye 384 line!
