So, while my dead 8800GTX and I pull dirty faces at each other, I'm rebuilding my rig, cable management etc;

Where can I gets me one of them 4pin 12v PSU cables that goto the motherboard? The 2x yellow, 2x black cables.

I have the lovely Antec P180 chassis, but the cable management is a nightmare and a half.

Don't see anything on Sybaritic / google. :\

Hmmm... cable management, you say.

Just tried doing some today. Got my cable sleeving from the USA and covered all the front-panel grey cables and some fan cables. What a pain ... non-expanding multi-filament nylon sleeving. :P

This CMStacker830 is also not cable management friendly.

Let us know how you going to do the cable management. I need ideas.

Also, is it possible to get very flexible wire somewhere? The worst thing about power cables in PCs is how stiff the damn wiring is. Where to find good multi-strand wire to make custom power cables?

Yeah, I had cable sleaves once, I bought them and never used them, the kind that require the molex plugs to be removed and re-attached - not hard, but not interested in voiding warranty. Ended up throwing them in the trash. Vantec cr@p.

One idea is to drill 10c circular holes in the motherboard tray, line the edges with rubber gromits and run your cables behind the MB tray.

My Antec P180 has no window kit, so I'm not doing it to look pretty, just free up some space. The 4pin cable prevents me from removing any PCI cards without unplugging it, and it's in a tight spot.

Same here. No side panel window thingy but I hate opening up a machine and having to fiddle through endless wires trying to get to something.

I have remnants of a Vantec kit lying here. I didn't care much for that stuff. It's too stiff. I got multi-filament nylon stuff instead. Super soft stuff and you can't see the cable through it either.

The CMStacker 830 doesn't have much space around the edges to feed cabling through. Here's a pic of the front-panel cabling, routing it over the edge, down the back and through the slot where the tube fan should be:

Doing it that way freed up alot of space inside, but it shortens the cable. Think tomorrow I'll try and route down the edge of the drive cage area on the other side and not through the fan opening. That way I can easily remove the tray.

I wanted to run the main power cable round the back, but it winds up being a bit too thick as it goes over that top bar.

How does one remove the pins from the main ATX plug anyway?

Not sure, can't think of anywhere that would stock them. I think they're sort of a specialist item, if you know what I mean.

I need it today.

It's sunday :erm:

If you're that desperate, get another PSU, cut off the 4pin and make your own extended cable.

Warning: The capacitors might still hold a charge. :p
