I'm in the payments industry, and I've never heard of this software. Looking at their website, i'm not surprised you wasted your money!
If their whole business model runs on a single sale of R999, that should already ring the alarm bells.

It's indefeasible to sink man hours into supporting customers if they are not paying some kind of support and maintenance contract. There are probably better free POS packages you could use!

Tell us more about the context of this rant... Did you buy it?

I have been using it for 6 months now and it is working fine for my purposes. Yes, security is non-existent on the Access DB and I had to repair the database twice now but it is functionality rich and quite stable.

I've had some dealings with them.

The owner of the business (Marcus) would get on the phone in some cases if you log a support call and give you a ear full because he doesn't want to know about the problems his customers has.

They hard coded (i don't have proof of this) the older versions of the software to stop working after a certain date. You could upgrade for free if you had your license key but if you didn't they would force you to buy the software again. The reason i think they coded this is because they have steps on their forum detailing the exact error message and the resolution was to upgrade.

You would think they can supply you with your license key as there is an activation process but it turns out up to a point they stored the keys in a SMS database which they seem to have lost and can't service their oldest customers.

The software seems to work OK most of the time but their support structure is laughable.
