Got to replace the set on my old 4.6 HSE
BF Goodrich Muds?
Pirelli Scorpion Muds?
Yoki G00 1C Muds?

Anyone got any experience with any of these?

The BFG's are fsk-off expensive but are they really worth the extra 600rhondt a tyre more than the other 2?

[edit someone said I should also take a look at the Hankook dynapro MT range but having never heard of Hankook doing offroad tyres I'm a bit sceptical]

Hankook has been getting very good reviews for its AT and MT tyres, it may be worth checking them out.

Are you set on MTs and not ATs?
Well I really mostly use the vehicle for offroad trips, normally dry but I've got stuck a few times with the current AT's in mud
Also those mud tyres just look so aggressively awesome on the vehicle that I just can't resist ;)

I will do a bit more research on the Hankooks. Do you know if it's only TWT who stocks them? Those okes will sell their mothers into slavery to get a deal so I don't necessarily trust their advice when it comes to which brand to buy. The salesie just about got a visible half-a-lazy when I drove my Rangie into the Woodmead branch and mentioned BFG's

Yes, IIRC only TWT imports them. I avoid TWT, usually get tyres for both the A3 & the landy from a small independent tyre dealer.

Excellent. Perhaps someone can explain to me the logic behind buying off road tires when most 4x4s get used 99% on tarmac?

Not judging, just curious what the thought process is. Image? Respect point? Convenience?

They look better :), they perform better off road, they perform similar on tarmac, and it's cheaper to keep only one set of tires that can preform in both environments.
Would love to have a road & off-road set of tires.

I see. Thanks for explaining.

Dunno what size rim you running but I fitted maxxis bighorns 31' on 15 inch rims, for around R1300. Been very happy with them but they are NOISY.
