I saw Rouxenator's thread, and didn't wanna derail his thread - thanks bud.
I have the following hardware:
- Asus Xonar DG sound card that supports 5.1 channel output.
- Sony amp - no idea what the model is.
- 5 speakers and a subwoofer.
- Windows 8.1 PC.
No matter what I do, I cannot get 5.1 sound to play, I can only get the sub and 2 speakers to play, at most.
What I can say, is I've done the following:
- Enabled SPDIF in Windows sound options.
- Using the coaxial cable - the amp has 2 coaxial ports, VIDEO and SAT, and neither solve it.
Also, I have to disable PCM to play through the front panel only, and Speakers still need to be enabled in Windows Sound options. Thus I have both SPDIF and Speakers enabled, which is not ideal, but this is the only way to get my headphones to work.
Anyone have any experience with this? I must admit I'm quite a n00b with 5.1 and amps, so I'm ready to take any ridiculing comments as they come.
