What do you drive? A lamborgini? I couldn't care less, my car is fast enough but I don't see why I should endanger everyone else cause the speedo says 260!

Guys, children, you're going on asif there's one old grannie on the whole frikken JHB highway, with no other car in sight doing 80 in the right hand lane. grow up already.

The reality is, if the other 4 lanes are full'ish and someone does 120Km in the right lane, then he's permitted todo so. And he has every right to be there. get over yourselves. Just cause you drive a beemer (ugh!) or merc doesn't mean you're the damn sheriff of the road.

Obviously not blocking traffic ! But I'm not going to keep left on a farked up stretch of highway, hitting potholes and delaminated truck tires if there nobody in the right hand lane! Fix the roads, ban retreads, then I'm cool with the left lane.
 
I don't know about JK8 but I'm talking about when it's maybe weekend and there's not a constant flow of traffic (where more than likely all lanes will be doing 120kmh).

Everyday I see people drive 80 in the fast lane next to trucks. Thanks for making rush hour worse by not keeping left if you are driving slow. I think it's inconsiderate to slow all the traffic down just because you feel it's your right to drive way below the speed limit in the passing line! People like that should rather take public transport and keep their crappy driving inside town.

Don't worry, I will bring MY camera with me to record you while you are blocking the whole highway and aggravating more than half of the drivers!

I rate, instead of teaching our nation that k-53 crap, they should teach people how to drive economically and how to keep traffic flowing nicely instead of getting the usual scenario of trying to pass a golden oldie driving in the (right) overtaking lane, driving 60, only to end up behind a person in the left lane as and then having the golden oldie overtake you, as well as all the other people coming in the right, leaving you stuck instead of the guy just giving way and keeping the traffic going forward without unnecessary hiccups.

Yes, exactly! This is what the law says and that is what road users should remember.
 
the trick is to come flying as if you are about to hit them, they will move... if it's night time then high beams... keep left, pass right suckers...

JK get yourself a 4x4 and see how they move

But then you forcing the driver to overtake you in the middle lane... why?
The speed limit is 120, you car speedometer is not 100% you probably only doing 110kmph... we only get a speeding ticket if we over 132kmph... so wtf are you doing 110 in the fast lane for??
I drive 140kmph max. If you driving slower get out of the way!!!

If someone behind you indicates to you that you're in the way (e.g. by flashing lights), you are obliged, BY LAW, to move over as soon as is safely possible.

They moved over, no problems.

Omw! Really, you are just making things worse because now people will start passing you on your left anyway and maybe cause an accident that way just because you are aggravating them!! Irritating!

It's not your job to police other road users. Even at 120 km/h, you shouldn't be in the fast lane. The RTA is quite clearly about keeping left and passing right.

Hmmm not sure if I agree with this - maybe have some reference on this? Never heard about this before?
(Ok well its been > 10 years since I've done my K53)...
 
Trouble is that most people interpret the rules to suit themselves. Yes, a car speedo does under read by a certain amount; this varies from car to car but you can't say that because of this it's okay for to drive at 140kph - as I guess my true speed is actually 120kph and to hell with anyone else who is driving at an indicated 120kph on their speedo. The law says 'keep left pass right' - end of story.
