Microsoft Corp has sold over 5 million Xbox One video game consoles to retailers since its launch in November, the company said on Thursday.

To retailers. It's a good estimate though as retailers are running out of stock all over the place and Sony is struggling with demand.

Whenever anyone announces sales, whether it's Apple, Microsoft, Sony or Samsung, it's to retailers. These guys know exactly how many have reached consumers because everything needs to be activated nowadays, but they all obviously quote the higher figure of units shipped out their warehouses.

Both consoles are doing extremely well. Not a fan of the XBox but I must may Titanfall looks awesome.

As I understand it this is the amount sold to customers.Pretty impressive.
