I'm looking at buying a new truck minimum 5 tons.

I've been looking at FAW and they appear to be decent does anyone perhaps have any experience what truck makes are reliable?

It will be used for our stone business so transporting stones throughout South Africa.

America being the land of big trucks and pickups what would the cost implications be of importing a truck from the US it's dirt cheap over there. Has anyone imported vehicles yet?

NQR500 Isuzu
We build truck bodies and Isuzu by far the most popular

Mmm I'm going to have a look thanks.

Also would it be possible to get a dropside body for the Isuzu, I assume so?

How reliable are Tata, I always got the feeling that's the cheapo on the block.

Also I am aware of Tatas in the upper ton range they have a bunch of 1 and 2 ton trucks which I pull more with my Nissan navara.

Tata commercial vehicles are rather robust. Better than their road cars.

They're built to handle the harsh terrain of India.

Fair enough I see the lpt-1518 might be worth looking at. I'll see if I can find a dealership tomorrow and have a look.
