Telkom call centre agent said the data will expire after 31 days regardless of what the circulating message said. Getting mixed messages from Telkom. Guess we will know when expiration dates hit.

The regulations, once published, will make for an interesting read. It's unclear whether the telecoms companies are in favour of the reforms. Obviously if it was up to them data wouldn't roll over, out-of-bundle rates would kick in unannounced etc. The next elephant in the room is pricing.

RIP 500GB. Probably the best speeds I have gotten on LTE-A. Faster than my 100Mbps fibre in terms of download.
Torrents are not shaped on 500GB....

I agree, even though I only have ADSL, these 500GB bundles were gold when I used them. Speeds always in the 6-8 mb/s range, easily did about 70-80GB per night on those Steam downloads. Going to buy another 2x bundles before they're no longer available, going to miss it
I just wish that Telkom would bring out a package that has something like 10/20GB peak time usage with 500GB midnight surfer data, I'd jump on a package like that for R150 - R200 a month.

Cell C: 200Go for R1999= 9.99/Go
Telkom Smart Broadband prepaid LTE: 100Go for R755= 7.55/Go.
I’m not even counting the night data of 100Go on Telkom.
When it comes to mobile data truth is Telkom is kinda hard to beat. You do get the Axxess/Afrihost stuff but they only good for small bundles

my sim is in router so not sure if got the SMS, well will give it a test on Saturday... wonder when they will replace it and hope it with something decent. got to use like 400GB this weekend hope I can eat through it.

That 200GB on Cell C lasts 365 days. I guess I should have stated that. I got a Telkom sim because of the 500GB so I can just download whatever I wanted after 12am. Left Cell C to then use 20+20 packages for R355 p/m. So I had a tiny package for browsing and online gaming during the day and a package to download after 12am. But now I have little reason to keep the Telkom sim after the 500GB is done.

i'm on prepaid, i use the ussd code *188# to buy bundles, all on 1 sim card my previous bundle expires on the 19th may and the new one loaded this morning will expires in 31 days.

haha yeah, well i currently have no other source of internet so i had to buy another bundle to last me the whole month, hopefully by beginning next month the new bundles will be out and they're affordable, else i'll have to get cellc 50gb package.
