Very cool deal if you need to use data fast cause it will give you 50mb of data @ R3 valid for 1 hour from time of purchase.

Its available for prepaid and top up customers via *111*60# then select power bundles

What network?

Yes sorry if I was not clear but it is Vodacom

Does it stack? What happens if you buy it twice within the hour.

I'm not sure but I think you can only buy 1 bundle at a time. I will to some tests and let you guys know whats the outcome.

Already posted, and by general forum consensus (and I agree) it's utter *#$@

Yeah I posted first and gave mybb the tip btw but its not useless its a decent offer not as a data bundle replacement but as a data boost when you need it most.

Are you a vodacom salesman that you push this service so hard? The only reason this bundle remotely makes sense is because their other bolt-ons are ridiculously priced to begin with,so rather than buying a bundle more than big enough to last you the month you'd need to stagger your work and buy a small bundle to get connected for an hour

I fail to see the usefulness for an hourlong bundle of such a silly size and at a crap price, especially considering the time it could take to cap that, assuming you got 22mbps connection you could finish that bundle literally in under a minute

The effort required to buy such a bundle is also nonsense for what you get

MTN's uncapped-for-an-hour bolton makes more sense, and even that is pretty meek

No I'm not hey. I don't even work in the technology sector... Anyways I totally agree with you. Their normal promotional data bundles are a absolute joke. The most expensive provider in fact. MTN is priced the same but give you extra promo data atleast like that is any consolation.

I push hard for stuff that are actually well priced. Like this and MTN PAYG bundles are promo's that actually saves you money if used right and competes very well with Cell C and Telkom Mobile.

So lets say you need 50mb now to stream a video but don't want you EXPENSIVE data bundle chowed up by 50mb just to stream this video. Buy the quick bundle and stream that video without efecting your small 100mb for R29 bundle.

You see its great for data boosts. Need to update 2 or 3 apps without having to spend half of your highly paid for bundle on it then this is a solution. Its cheap and 50mb is actually enough for a boost I think.

Not saying its ground braking or fantastic but its decent. Its better than nothing or even better than those horrible promo bundles which BTW is such a waste of time.

I get the usefulness given the context of terrible pricing, but this is a bandaid for a broken leg ;)

Fix the bundle pricing and you wont need to add such trite "products"

it suits a range of purposes and was probably projected to suit certain operational structures. Data at under 8c a meg is not something to be scoffed at and there are several usage cases for it.

Had never thought of it as a booster on a preexisting data bundle, that does add a usage case. Ja not ground breaking but decent

R145 for 5 gigs
R29 per gig
2.8c per meg vs 6c per meg on Vodacom is a good deal but its a big-ish bundle

at 500 megs the Afrihost product is 1 rand cheaper

I am saying understand the economics of network operators and identify when products arrive that drive innovation

Cheaper and no extra time restrictions, convenience of a cheap large bundle already makes it more attractive

This isn't innovation, this is slapping a discount with a self destruct timer on a turd and calling it an innovative turd

Just stacked 2 x the power bundle and got 100mb @ R6 so it foes stack hey. It also uses the power bundle firt before your bundled or paid for data bundle....

The next question though is - is it available for post-paid contract ;)
but with stacking you still need to work within an hour

Does this bundle work on LTE ?

R3 is cheaper than using a WI-FI hotspot access if you not near any ADSL/hotspot...

After reading this might consider getting that R29 deal from afrihost 250meg+250meg.
