512k and 4mb Prices

512k -> R362 R326 (10% redcuction)
4mb -> R516 R413 (20% reduction)

think'll upgrade to 4mb now...it's only going to cost me R51 more...but it is probably exactly what they want people to do.

Take with the one hand, give with the other. Net result still the same.

Line rental up from 99.92 to 111.90
ADSL installation up from 437.50 to 490 …..

Line rental up by R12

384 is R93 cheaper

512 is R36 cheaper

4meg is R103 cheaper

So you are still saving some bux.. but not much.. I want them to say, 3gig cap increased to bigger number.. Dont need uncapped.. Just bigger number :P

512k users are getting the short end of the stick again. A net saving of only R24 :(

why is der such a big gap between the speeds...:( wat about a 2mb line or something... im sure lots off ppl will opt for that

anyway... any news on the DoPackages with the closer plans ?

As at 1 August:

Code:
Analogue line rental - R112
ADSL Rental (512k) - R326
WA 3GB             - R199
Total              - R637

This compares to an all in cost of R666 :eek: for do3. Someone check my numbers, have I missed something somewhere?

Quite correct. R326 for 512k line rental is the deal killer. 384k and 4mb much better value for money.

Last time I checked with them a few months back, my exchange was not enabled for 4mb. That's why I'm so ticked off, 4mb is not an option for many of us even though we can afford it. They bloody well better upgrade 512k to 1mb for that price.

What makes a product sell .. buyers

What makes a product drop in price .. lack of buyers

By everyone rushing now to upgrade, because there is a save of a few bux, Telkom, is still in the driving seat.

I will not upgrade just as a matter of principal.
Until there is an alternative, I will stay with what I have. I can afford better but, so can Telkom afford to offer better at much better prices.

- Control, or be controlled -

So they are still playing hard to get with 4mb? Are there areas in the metropolitan areas where you can't get 4mb?
