Give or take one or two. Wtf have they done.

Helpdesk : "You are the only one experiencing a problem."
User : "Yes, because everyone else is using ADSL!"

Incident : Multiple BTS outage due to core equipment failure Priority: Critical ETR : 30 mins

seriously... how hard can it be to keep stuff up.. seriously?
so they maybe want some of us to come fix their network issues?

on another note....

on the Iburst "Incident Report" page:

02/09/08 Kempton Park BTS degradation 06/09/08 Kempton Park areas NORMAL IN PROGRESS 2hrs

That incident has had a 2hr ETA resolution time for about 10 days now... that is the longest 2 hrs i've ever seen... its like 2hrs when you stoned!

I get SMS from iburst for every incident (morning , noon and night!) as a partner. Often their support incidents on website are simply never posted or updated.

Thanks for letting us know.

I'm not even going to comment about their site.

ja, just got a note from the support department telling that they're having issues connecting to remote sites via iburps...

Not hard, and it's not even the rainy season yet.
Many people on MyBroadband have offered to help them- their response is typically STFU!!
I am very very glad I went to all the trouble to get ADSL. I knew that I would never regret that decision.

If I could get telkom.... correction... if Telkom could get the contractors they paid to actually install the lines in our complex..... correction.... if telkom could stop making their problems mine, i would get ADSL :(

Ja I hear you.... your situation is a difficult one :(
Is there any way I can help perhaps?

Well, unless you can get telkom to stop shifting blame around and actually come and install the lines inside the complex, i'm afraid not... :(

The story goes, the lines from the exchange the box in the complex are wired and working (I'm 100m from the exchange). But the people who telkom contracted to install the lines from the box to each of the units in the complex took their money and never installed any lines.

there is little to no vodacom signal there, and absolutely zero neotel signal (yet). So I guess I am stuck with Iburst for the meantime.

Yesterday, from 14:00, iBurst had peering issues with various sites, for example I couldn't access mweb.co.za, xe.com or cnn.com while sites like fnb.co.za, google.com and fansub.tv
worked. When I did a traceroute to xe.com, it worked - it went via Hong Kong then Tokyo
of all places to XE.com but XE.com wouldn't itself load.

The MWEB iBurst liaison guy told me that it had been a problem since the morning. The problem seems to have been fixed by this morning.

Had to use Vodacom 3G on cell phone to access email.
