which btwn these 5d mark 2 and 7d Canon DSLRs is great?

Depends what you're going to be doing with it?

The 5DMKII is full frame, better IQ, better noise handling, higher resolution etc

But 7D is newer and has the features - so it's much quicker (FPS and shutter lag), has a much better auto focus/tracking system and the crop sensor suits sports/nature has the lens has more reach.

I could either get the 7D and a great lens or the 5DII and OK lens - but chose the 7D and great lens option. I haven't looked back ... and when I look at the R21,000.00 5DMKII specs I can't help but wonder why it hasn't been updated. It surely must be due very shortly!

Can you estimate their prices?

I'm giving the average - not the lowest.

Canon 7D bodis between R15,000.00 - R16,000.00
Canon 5D MKII is between R21,000.00 - R22,000.00

Canon 5D MKII R19'995
Canon 7D R14'495
Both cameras at Fotodiscountworld come with free training vouchers.
I have a 7D and I'm loving it. Only reason that I wouldn't go for the 5D right now would be the fact that I would lose some of the reach on my big lenses. For closeups I'd be all for the 5D.

I would suggest you check for specials. I got the 7D body for R12k on special.

When did they have the photo/video expo at Gallagher estates? Was around August iirc. Fdw had it for 12k then, as did the big photo shop in Jozie.

5M2 is a brilliant camera.

But I got a 7D as I needed the FPS speed and the more accurate AF system.
